<p>On the one hand, this is a great development &#8211; it means that as a society we are becoming more aware of a need to give to others and are even taking the necessary steps to ensure that we help others.</p>
<p>On the other hand, though, the presence of so many non-profits creates a unique problem &#8211; “giver burnout.”</p>
<p>Giver burnout happens when individuals get so many appeals for help &#8211; from large cancer societies, small women’s shelters, literacy organizations, and every possible non-profit group in-between that they feel overwhelmed and are less apt to contribute anything to anyone.  Even those individuals who do want to contribute have had to cut back on who they contribute to &#8211; there are simply too many groups requesting money and only so much disposable income any one person has.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #800000;"><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Do you Need to </span></strong></span><span style="color: #800000;"><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Keep Creating Unique Fundraising Ideas?</span></strong></span></h2>
<p>In 2007, the National Association of Elementary School Principals found that 94 percent of school administrators rely on fundraisers to supplement district, state and federal money they receive.</p>
<p>That number has probably increased.  So the answer is yes!</p>
<p>You must work harder to get funding.  Where in the past groups often did well just by asking for money or organizing one big event to fundraise each year, now fundraising is big business.</p>
<p>Allison Jewell, vice president of American Heart Association &#8211; Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area, took time out of her busy schedule to discuss her gala fundraising ideas for non profits.</p>

<p>My wife and I finished our Annual &#8220;<em>Thankfullness List</em>.&#8221; Upon review, we really did have a great year!  If money shows were your heart is&#8230; according to our list&#8230; ours is in travel (eight days in Ireland was awesome), friends (annual Christmas Party with fellow Purdue Boilermaker Lee Brush), and <a href="http://bit.ly/8vpGUO" target="_blank">red wine</a> (thanks <a href="http://homeessential.com/investmentrealestatecorner/2009/10/28/35-things-russian">Gary Vaynerchuck</a>.)  I had my second best year in real estate, corporate promotions, and was able to conquer my worry about money.  After multiple trips to Las Vegas, Nevada, I found my inspiration for this year’s motto. The motto for the year will be:</p>
<h1><span style="color: #800000;">We&#8217;re Gonna Win in o&#8217;10 !</span></h1>
<p>What does that mean to me?</p>
<ul>
<li>Focus on achievements, keep your pats-on-the-back, hand over the trophies, trips, and cash.</li>
<li>I&#8217;m going to be obsessed with generating  residual and continuity income or super-morbidly obese checks.</li>
<li>Bringing back the &#8220;<em>Boom-Boom-Boom&#8221;</em> in my most important relationships.</li>
</ul>
<p>Many of you have done resolutions, I don&#8217;t.  I just have my motto.  <strong>I will use this motto like the baseball bat in <a href="http://bit.ly/5LOHEV" target="_blank"><em>The Godfather</em></a>;</strong> when I am faced with the obstacles and challenges I&#8217;m going to beat the living snot out-of-them&#8230;</p>
<p>Like this week, I beat an additional 20% out of my 2010 operational expenses and decided to hold off on getting <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/14/exclusive-first-google-phone-nexus-one-photos-android-2-1-on/">Google&#8217;s Nexus One</a>.</p>
<p>This year, in everything that I do,  I’m going for the jugular.  I&#8217;m going to be everywhere like <a href="http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1820148,00.html">Lil&#8217; Wayne in 2008</a>.</p>

<p>Forget this year, today is the most important day of my life. Today, we work smarter. Today, <strong>we out hustle</strong>. Diddy, Diddy&#8221; Combs</a> says and <em>&#8220;Make a Way Out of No Way.&#8221;</em> When you and I look back on 2010, for all the late-nights, caffeine pills and ambians that it brought, <strong>we will be able to say “We Won in o&#8217; 10”</strong></p>
